As with many of her works, the artist does not completely plan her creative process in advance. The work emerges from her intuition while painting. After the first traces or layers of paint on the canvas, associations or ideas about them are further developed. This often results in abstract paintings reminiscent of a landscape. While working on this painting, the artist initially planned to use neutral tones with impasto color structures. In the creative process, she then further developed the elements 'earth' and 'sky'. Sky here not in the classical sense of blue, but rather in the neutral tone like the overall character of the painting. The horizon line of the supposed landscape fades and merges with the sky. Through the upward-moving patterns of color application, the idea or vision that the earth wants to reach for the sky was further developed. This also resulted in the title for the work. The sides of the canvas were involved in the painting process, so that the motif extends beyond the edge. As a result, the painting can be hung directly without further framing. A sawtooth hanger is centrally attached to the back. The signature is on the bottom left on the front. The artist uses only high-quality professional artist paint. In addition, the painting is provided with a silk gloss final varnish to protect it against environmental influences.
