Kathrin Höhne
The human body in wild nature opens up completely different spaces of human existence and creates a sensuality that is much more connected to our soul.
Biography
Kathrin Höhne studied AV media design at the Lazi Academy in Esslingen and from 1991 to 1995 acting at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart.
Since 1994, she has worked as an actress at state and city theaters in Germany, Europe, and the USA, as well as for film and TV, and as a voice actress for dubbing, radio plays, and audiobooks.
Her photography has a lot to do with her work as an actress.
Because even when developing a role, it's about what body language the character has and what can be told with the body, regardless of spoken words.
Since 2014, Kathrin Höhne has exhibited her B/W body images in galleries and art fairs worldwide (including New York, Miami, Paris, Berlin, Zhuhai, Hong Kong).
The special thing about her works is that in most photos, she is both model and photographer at the same time.
"The photo is a performance, a snapshot, the connection of body, nature, and emotions, which occurs exactly when I press the shutter release.
I work with sunlight, without reflectors or additional lamps.
The photo captures a moment that happens exactly like that, without post-processing. I develop the ideas beforehand, as with a performance or when developing a role, but the photo then emerges through the uniqueness of the moment."
