Series Water Sculptures

Water is the most fascinating element for me and at the same time the most demanding. Water cannot be held, it flows away just like life, which is only experienceable in the moment of being. Without water, there is no life; even we humans consist of about 60% water.
The Water Sculptures series was created at a mountain waterfall in the Alps. The water was 13 degrees Celsius, the outside temperature only a little more; I could only be in the water for a maximum of 2 minutes at a time, in between I had to warm up.
This shoot was a boundary experience for me, both physically and mentally. On the one hand, there is the immense power of the waterfall, which quickly tires one out, and on the other hand, due to the increasing hypothermia of my body, I could only move my feet and hands with difficulty. Mentally, too, the cold affected me, resulting in the fact that at some point I could no longer think and decide clearly, an absolute boundary experience. Thanks to my assistant Jule, we made it home safely again. After that, I lay in bed with a severe cold for three days.
